Amanda Baranski

"Renewal explores the wonder and awe that nature has to bestow.  Through nature stills in black and white, it is my hope as an artist that my exhibit will serve to shed new light on nature and the environment as well as refresh the spirit.  Humans are destroying that which makes our earth so remarkable and breathtaking; we are taking away nature's true beauty and majesty in addition to nature's capacity and ability to thrive in our quest for domination, progress, and expansion.  Renewal serves not only as a reminder of nature's true worth, but also as a reminder of the importance to preserve, protect, and appreciate that which is irreplaceable."

The artist is originally from Woodleaf, NC and will graduate with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Art in May 2006.
