INITIAL CONDITIONS

  1. 28.9% of the major crimes involve Model Neighborhood Area residents

  2. Juvenile arrests from the Mode Neighborhood Area make up 32.3% of total city's juvenile arrests.

  3. 37% if the children live with only one parent -- usually the mother.

  4. Rising crime and juvenile delinquency rate in the Model Neighborhood Area.

COMMENT

The Crime and Delinquency Task Force decided that Citizen Participation on the part of Area Residents had not been sufficient enough to warrant being submitted in the Mid-Year Planning Statement.

In view of this fact, the Task Force requested that no problems or causes be listed at this time.
