Description

These community newsletters, published by the Redevelopment Commission of the City of Asheville, address issues relevant to the citizens of East Riverside. The majority of the articles contain information about urban renewal, such as explanations of policy, contact information for the Redevelopment Commission, addressing rumors concerning urban renewal, and explanations and campaigning for the bond issue vote in March 1967. The newsletters also address other issues, particularly the increased risk of house fires in East Riverside. Updates on local school activities are provided on a regular basis, as are notes of appreciation from both the Redevelopment Commission and from local citizens.  Several issues also contain introductory biographies to members of the Redevelopment Commission.
