Statement on writing  
Biography

Jo Carson, born in 1946 in Eastern Tennessee, earned her degrees in theatre and speech from East Tennessee State University. Her bibliography casts a wide net, including collections of short fiction, books for children, and drama. Her work The People Pieces (a collection of monologues performed throughout the United States) ran for eight years as an occasional spot on National Public Radio’s All Things Considered. Throughout her career, Carson has made her home in Johnson City.
