Statement on writing "Writing is the process of evoking words about the human condition and the planet assigned to us.  Sometimes the writer poses the problems and sometimes the problem has been posed by someone else.  Nevertheless, the writer does his damnedest to solve it.  Sometimes the writer simply provides pauses to consider the importance of our experience."
Biography James B. Goode was born in a four-room coal camp house in a mining camp owned by the Wisconson Steel Division on International Harvester.  He attended a company-owned school, lived in a company-owned house, bought from a company-owned store, went to a company-owned theater, and was surrounded by company-owned people throughout his childhood.  Instead of following his father and grandfather down into the darkness of the mines, Goode attended college--first at the Southeast Community College, then at the University of Kentucky, the University of Detroit, and the University of Chicago.  Since then, he has taught at Southeast Community College.  When he is not concentrating on his writing and teaching, Goode pursues book collecting and photography
