Biography

Jean Boyd was born in Asheville, attended St. Anthony's of Padua, followed by Stephens Lee. She married Robert Lee Boyd her senior year in high school. After raising two children, waiting until her youngest was in first grade, she received her GED through AB Tech, went on to Montreat-Anderson as a Junior College and then transferred to Warren Wilson. In 1967, Mrs. Boyd took a position as an Attendance School Developer (truant officers) with the North Buncombe county schools.  She next was hired by Asheville Child Development Training Program under the Opportuity Corporation.
