Biography |
Ruby Rice Jones was born in 1926, ion Richie St. (Stumptown), Asheville, NC., She married Harold Jones (deceased 1955) and has one son, Harold, born in 1962 in Asheville. Jones attended Allen School, grades 1-4, St. Anthony's grades 5-7 and Stephens-Lee High School. Jones then attended LaMae College of Cosmetology in Winston-Salem and Stewart's Beauty School on Bartlett St., in Asheville. Jones worked as a beautician at her shop, on Depot St. and a shop in Sylva, owned by Mr. Jim Walls. Jones worked for 10 years, offering Home Health Care. Following retirement, Jones continues to volunteer at the VA hospital. |
