Biography |
Sigmatia Sigman was born in 1928 in Asheville, North Carolina. Her father is from Chios, Greece and moved to the Asheville area in the early 1900s. Her mother is from Lynchburg, Virginia. As a child, Mrs.Sigman grew up in the Greek Orthodox church and attended Greek School. Her mother worked in the Arakas Candy Shop, which is where her parents met. Her father had a hat shop which is where Mrs. Sigman worked prior to her marriage to Mr. Sigman. | |
