Description |
Helen Pozner begins her history by discussing her mother; then she talks about the early years of her marriage and how she came to settle with him and their three children in Asheville. Ms. Pozner speaks very extensively about her experience managing the Dunbar apartments. She also talks about the Asheville Jewish Community Center, and the different ways the community was divided, united and supported each other. At the end of the tape, Ms. Pozner talks about UNCA during the time is was at Sealy Castle. Also, it is of note that a donation was made to the Judaica section of Ramsey Library in her name. |

Helen Pozner was born outside of Boston, MA. She is a first-generation Polish immigrant. In Asheville, she managed the Dunbar apartments for a number of years and was a member of the temple. |
