Biography

J. B. Day opened the Riverbend Old Stockcar Racing Museum near the Greenville-Pickens Speedway, South Carolina.  His collection began with restoring replicas of cars that played a role in the evolution of NASCAR.  In 2002, J. B. Day was invited to display two replicas from the collection at the International Motorsports Hall of Fame in Talledega, Alabama. One of these replicas is the 1937 Ford that Fonty Flock drove when he won the championship at Greenville-Pickens Speedway in 1959.  Before he died in 1998, Flock asked Day to lead his funeral procession to his grave, behind the wheel of the replica.
