Description	The interview recounts the self-sufficient and abundant life enjoyed in the early 1900's when Mr. Jones was growing up on a farm in Ashe County. The farm family grew its own meat, vegetables, and poultry, and fruits were plentiful and available in great variety. He describes the summer and winter routine of farm life, food preservation, and the simple pleasures of country life, church activities, politics, and the administration of rural justice. He describes the one-room school where his Uncle Wesley Jones taught for 52 years, church services and revivals and the importance of music in the life of the community.

Biography	Jones grew up on a farm in Ashe County, NC. In addition to farming, his father worked as a Revenue Officer in the 1930's. Since 1936 Jones has lived in Asheville, NC.
