Monday, April 26, 1897 "Lowry Verner & I went to the Upper Whitewater Falls today starting early. We climbed to the bottom of the Falls & it was hard work getting down & up the cliffs. I nearly stepped on a rattler, which Lowry afterward shot. The foliage down there is green and summery. I exposed 3 8x10 plates which turned out well in developing tonight. We got home about 4 o'clock. Looked rainy this morning but cleared off."
