List of Sources For and By Individuals Associated With the U.S Forest Service Southern Research Station Photo Collection Compiled by Rob Messick February - April 2003 and annotated by Special Collections staff
The following bibliographical material was compiled by Rob Messick, an independent researcher whose interest in "old growth forests" led to his compilation of writings of early foresters and those associated with early forestry in western North Carolina. He has shared his research material with UNCA Special Collections in the interest of promoting the work of these early foresters. These individuals and the accompanying bibliographic citations will specifically be useful to those wishing to review the literature for the U.S. Forest Service Southern Research Station staff and associated foresters. Biographical material on many of the following individuals is relatively scant and biographical material has been assembled from a variety of sources, both official and unofficial. Any additional information on the following people is welcomed by the Special Collections staff at UNCA.
