Harold D. Foster

Biography

Harold Foster was from New Jersey and began working with the Bureau of Forestry in 1903 as a student assistant earning $300 per year.  His employment listing was “in the field.”  He rose to the position of Forest Assistant by 1905, when the US Forest Service formed, and was earning $1,100 per year. *
