| Biography | M. A. Mattoon was the assistant regional forester in charge of timber, range, and wildlife management in the Eastern Region of the Forest Service. After four years as forester in the Pisgah National Forest in North Carolina, he was supervisor, successively, of the Cherokee National Forest in Tennessee and Georgia, Pisgah National Forest, and the White Mountain National Forest in New Hampshire and Maine. |
