Overview:

The Magic Act, Inc. is a hair salon in Marion, NC. They currently keep track of their clients via a scheduling book. Most of their clients they know by name but do not keep any records of addresses or when they were last here. I developed a dynamic schedule for them to make appointments for their clients and also be able to keep info about those clients. This administration portion of their website also allows them to keep their current website, www.themagicact.com up to date.

Process:

I used Microsoft Access and ASP to relate to the classes I have taken here at UNCA. I also know PHP but I chose ASP because it closely related to my courses and some of the employees at The Magic Act had some experience with Access. This gave them ease of use of Access if they ever wanted to create extra tables or reports.

Conclusion:

This system will be implemented in the following months of my graduation when their account year ends and allows them to purchase a computer for their shop. This business has never had a computer in their office but after our meetings and the demonstration of what could happen they were very pleased. I have learned a great deal about dealing with clients, making requirements and also sticking to a dead line.
