Description
The 28th
Judicial District Bar Association Website was created by the
need to improve communications, update the local court system
effectiveness, and to help reduce the court systems backlog of
cases in a quick and efficient manor. This website will support
approximately 550 users consisting of judges, lawyers, Pro Se
litigants (those whom represent themselves),
clerks, members and non-members of the 28th
Judicial District Bar, and the public. UNCA was chosen to design
and build this system. Students from Mr. Turner?s
Spring 2004 CSCI 446 Systems Analysis
and Design Project class were involved in the initial design
phase. Students from Mr. Turner?s Spring 2004 344 Internet
Server-Side Technology class were involved in the creation of
the Webmaster?s pages for the initial portion of the site which
allowed for database maintenance for the tables needed to
support the site.
My portion of
the website project was to create and complete the database
maintenance program pages that allow the Bar?s support staff to
maintain the databases necessary for the initial portion of the
site. By creating a website for the Bar with this backend
support, the site and databases involved can be accessed by any
computer with internet access anywhere in the world. The
software used in the creation of these web pages includes HTML,
CSS, ASP, ADO, SQL, Java-Script, and VBScript along with
Microsoft Access. The common database functions in the
maintenance programs include add,
delete, update, copy, and print support functions along with the
ability to select records by filtering and sorting criteria.
Some of the pages were created to only display the data using
selected filtering and sorting criteria.
