State of North Carolina Henderson County} In the Probate Court
December 13th A D 1868
Personly [sic] appeared before me C. M. Pace Judge of Probate for
the County of Henderson the above named B.R. King and E King his
wife and acknowledged the due execution by them of the foregoing
deed. And thereupon the said E King being by me privately examined
separate and apart from her said husband [t..nig?] her free will in
the execution, of the said deed of conveyance, she on such her
examination declared that she had executed the same freely of her
own will and accord, without-any force, fear, or undue, influence of
her said husband or any other person, and did still voluntarily
assent thereto.
Therefore [so?] to the said deed, and this certificate-be registered

This Indenture Made this the 18 Day of May A.D. 1867 Between B.R.
King & E. King of the first part & J A Staton of the Second part
Both of the State of North Carolina & County of Henderson Witnesseth
that the Sd [said] B.K. King & E King of the first part for and
inconsideration of the Sum of Five Hundred Dollars the Receipt of
which is here by acknowledg [sic] have. Given granted bargained and
Sold & Conveyed to the Sd [said] J.A. Staton him & assign all that
Tracts or [parcels?] of lands [&?] Tracts that of J Taylor & [?] of
J. Gray & a piece off of the J.C. Case lying in the County & State
afore set Boundered as folows [sic] Beginning on a Sowerwood
[Sourwood] the Sd [said] J Taylor's Corner at the North of a lain
[lane?] there a westwardley direction to a Book [rook?] on the Side
of the road on J.C. Cases line a condition corner &runs a South
direction with J.C. Cases line to the sd [said] B.K. King & E. King
own corner there with the sd [said] B.K. King & E. King own corner
then with the sd [said] B. R. King line a Eastward direction to a
stake then with B/R. King Northward direction to a stake then with
the sd [said] J [Taylor?] him then with the Sd [said] line Northward
direction to a Rook on the Side of the Boad Taylors own corner then
a North wardly direction to the Beginning containing Fifteen Acres
more or less to [horn] & to hold to the Sd [said] BK King. Staton
with the appertainences their unite Belonging to have & to hold to
him the Sd J.A. Staton his heirs & assigns for ever in the Sd [said]
B.K. King & E. King for the Consideration afore Sd [said] do
covenant & agree to [warnt?] & foreuse defend the [State] & [...itte]
of the four said loner to the Sd [said] J.A. Staton his heirs
executors administrators & assigns a [ginet?] of any person
whatsoever in witness when
