Be it known by these presents that we Joseph Taylor of the County aforesaid do bargain and sell alien and convey and confirm in fee simple unto Jesse Stanton of the same state and county a certain piece or parcel of land situate and lying and being in the state and county aforesaid being lying on the waters Henderson Creek containing five acres and half be the same more or less for and in consideration of the sum of fifty five dollars and seventy eight cents to me in hand paid the receipt is hereby acknowledged. Beginning on a rock corner running near South with Jesse Staton's line [42 or 72] rod to a stake, thence near east 25 1/2 rods to a stake thence near north 42 rod to a stake thence near west 17 rod to the beginning containing 5 1/2 acres more or less with all pertaining there to. I bind myself my heirs administrators and executors unto Jesse Staton his heirs and assigns forever to warrant and defend the same piece or parcel of land against all lawful claim.
