W. Justice, Cash Book dated July 1912. Includes records of cash
transactions by G. W. Justice as Commissioner of Deeds for the
"Speculation Land Company" under appointment by the Court, under
date of July Special Term, 1912, entries date from 1912 - 1927. Also
contains extensive listing of land owners, date, name, county, cost,
area, Patent Number, reservations, 42 and one-half pages, with
approximately 3,000 entries dating from the mid 1830's - 1916. In
addition, one page lists the heirs and descendants of James Dyer
Justice. Also included are: 1. Five pages listing land owners and
deed book references, approximately 150 entries. 2. A description of
land sold to the Carolina Monazite Company in 1906, including
mineral interests in Cleveland, Rutherford, and Burke Counties, part
of Patent 1027. 3. A typed description of parcels in Rutherford,
Cleveland, Burke, and McDowell Counties, approximately 21,000 acres.
4. Thirteen and ½ pages of listings of land owners, approximately
550 entries, the last page of which references a sale to the Chimney
Rock Company of 277 acres at a cost of $3,520., dated 1925/1926. 5.
Attachments to a letter from Quinn, Hamrick, and Hamrick to George
W. Justice, dated December 6, 1934 requesting confirmation of a
survey of lands once owned by the Broad River Lumber Company. 6. A
Standing Timber Report of trees 12" wide and up, dated 1906. The
Inventory was conducted at the time of the sale of land to the
Wright-Bachman Lumber Company, and is by location (18 areas), and
tree type (9). Report totals 74.9 million board feet. 7. Supreme
Court decision in the August Term 1910. David A. Thompson, et al v.
the Green River Power Company et al.
