James Stevens

Relationship to the Speculation Lands:
Stevens was the first resident agent for Arthur Bronson and the other owners and supervised Davis mine in Mecklenburg County (now Union County).  Various notations by Stevens indicate that he was forced to file numerous writs of ejectment in court to remove squatters from the company's gold lands.
