security for cost, or the clerk is liable in the sum of $ Being a
stranger here, and Mr Erwin, Mr Wilson and Mr Burton, all out of towns I
told the clerk I would give him ample security on their arrival, or, I
would place in his hands a sum of money sufficient to cover nearly double
the amt. of costs, provided he would give one security to return the amt.
in cash when the security was produced, by your counsel.
Mr Folgan has just arrived here and I shall take him on to the Gold mine

[I?] say Mr Isaac Bronson will write me on the subject [and?] stay here

Every thing relative to your business I have always kept secret even form
my most intimate friends and I would not now make the request to touch
generally on that subject, but, to one who would nationally fell an
interest for you his children. and for Mr Hoyt his particular friend.
You all know the high
estimation in which I hold the opinion and judgment of Mr Bronson, and you
are also aware of his discernment, understanding and ability, to manage
this or any other business: to make it productive.
These considerations and
a desire to devote my every faculty to the advancement of your interests,
while I remain in your service, has induced me to make the request.
