This Indenture made this the 19th day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy, between J.A. Staton and Elizabeth Staton his wife of the first part and S.M. King of second part Witnesseth that the said J.A. Staton and Elizabeth Staton for and in consideration of the same of two hundred and fifty dollars to them our hand paid by the said S.M. King the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have given granted bargained sold and conveyed, and by these presents doth give grant bargain sell and convey into the said S.M. King his heirs and assigns all that tract piece and parcel of land situated lying and being in the State of North Carolina and County of Henderson, bounded as follows. Beginning on a Sourwood J. Taylor comer at the north of a [lain?], thence a westernly direction to a rook on the side of the Road on J.C. Cases line a conditional corner, and
