          RECITALS: Witnesseth, that whereas the party of the first part being thereto duly authorized and empowered by the order and judgment of the Judge and Clerk of the Superior Court of Burke County, made and entered in a certain special proceeding in said court entitled S.B. Roper, Administrator, of J.W. Roper and others, Ex Parte, has contracted and agreed to sell and convey to the above named M.A. Buff the land and premise hereinafter described in fee simple, such purchaser to pay the sum of $475.00 therefore as offered and bid by him at private sale; in his said bid to J.F. Spainhour and John M. Mull and directed that deed for said premises to be made accordingly.
          DESCRIPTION: First Tract. Adjoining Bill Lane, Speculation land and others, BEGINNING on a chestnut in the ld county line in Wm. lane's line and runs S. 30 E. 11 poles to a poplar on a ridge; thence S. 46 E. down the ridge and across the branch 56 poles, same course, in all 82 poles to two chestnut oaks on a ridge; thence S. 68 E. 66 poles to a stake in the ridge; thence N. 60 E. with the road and top of the ridge 59 poles to a stake in the road and in the old county line; thence N. 30 W. with the top of the ridge and old county line; thence N. 10 W. 22 poles with the County line to a white oak in said county line; thence N. 55 X degrees with the old county line 60 poles to a hickory, corner of the county line and Wm. Lane's corner; thence S. 58 W. with the county line and Wm. lane's line 86 poles to the BEGINNING, containing 73 acres; reference being made to deed of Lafayette Lane and wife Lou Lane dated February 14, 1903, duly registered in office of Register of Deeds of Burke county in Book Q2, page 478, for a more perfect description of said land.
          Second Tract. Being an undivided one-third interest in that certain tract or parcel of land mentioned and described in a deed from Deck Lane and wife Bessie lane, dated the 15th day of Nov. 1915 consisting of 240 acres more or less, reference being hereby made to said deed of Deck Lane and wife to Jessie W. Roper duly recorded in the Register's office of B. Co. N.C. in Book B-4, p. 532 for a more perfect description of said land.
