Dear Friends,
I have to address you on a subject which is all but a heart
rending theme to me and my family with an aching heart and a
trembling hand. I must inform you that we have lost one of our
Daughters Elvira Departed this Life the 6th of this instant about 5
or 6 o'clock in the morning. She was attacked with cold chills and
violent troubles for about 8 days before she left in violent pains
in her side something like the feeling I had felt for Walter with
his but all would not do. We could not save her. When Death comes we
have to intemit[?] but I hope she is happy. In fact I have not the
Least Doubt of there is any thing like happiness hereafter she never
mentioned any thing about dying nor me to her. I am sorry that I did
not mention it to her but I had not any idea of Death or I would
asked her something.
