Biographical Note
Annie Rives Nicholson was born in Edgefield, SC on April, 1913, the first child of Ora Rives Nicholson and John Hugh Nicholson. She married Paul Knight Irwin on May 21, 1938, and the couple had three daughters. Nicholson died on January 1, 2004.
Scope and Contents
Scrapbook of Anna Rives Nicholson containing personal memorabilia, including photographs, correspondence, and other documents, gathered during Nicholson's adolescence and college years in Edgefield, SC and Winthrop College. Also included are folders of loose documents, some of which appear to have become detached from the scrapbook, but others are not likely to have ever been included in the scrapbook, despite being the same vintage and subject matter.
