Historical Notes

In May 1950, the Eta Sigma chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa fraternity was established at Asheville-Biltmore College. Dating from 1910, Phi Theta Kappa is a junior college fraternity, and in 1950, members were selected from the top 10% of the student body, and needed to maintain a "B" average. The Eta Sigma chapter discontinued when Asheville-Biltmore became a four year college.
