Description This group of items concerns four generations of the Brown family, who at one time or another lived in western North Carolina. They are: John Brown (1772-1845); his son William J. Brown (1803-1884); his sons William Caleb Brown, Samuel S. Brown, and John Evans Brown (1827-1894); and John Evans Brown's son, W. Vance Brown. Items include pamphlets, memoirs and deeds. Many items are photocopies of original documents.
