Description

This collection consists of various types of materials including photographs, nineteenth century correspondence of the Montreville Weaver family from the Reems Creek/Weaverville area, a copy of Tennent's Medicine in Buncombe County Down to 1885 (1905), and miscellaneous postcards to Col. V.S. Lusk, an Asheville political figure and attorney. The collection also includes a handwritten copy of the will of Montreville M. Weaver, dated January 17, 1872.

 Photographs of Mountain Meadows Inn, ca.1915, and photographs of members of the Wooster B. and Caroline N. McEwen family are related in subject matter to the McEwen collection in document container M79.15.1.

[Handwritten copy of the will of Montreville M. Weaver, dated January 17, 1872; First Codicil, dated February 28, 1878; Second Codicil, dated March 31, 1881. (Copy dated October 26, 1897.) Montreville Weaver was born August 10, 1808 and died September 16, 1882. He married Jane E. Baird, December 30, 1829. Jane E. Baird was Born August 17, 1811. The will covers the disposition of land in and near Weaverville. (4 pages)]
